This page is an archive of iMAL's wiki that operated between 2012 and 2022. It documented projects, residencies and workshops mostly taking place at iMAL's Fablab.

Older & newer Fablab projects are now found at fablab.imal.org

Lost a button ?

Here is a quick and stylish way to create some.

Use the lasercutter and a piece of MDF or other materials.

A button is made of extremely simple geometry. This one is greatly inspired by the original. It's 6 circles on 3 laser's layers. The 4 circles inside are fully cutted in the first laser's layer. The one visible is just engraved with a lower laser power in another layer. And the external edge is fully cutted in the last priority layer.

As you can see, it's just 6 circles.

It fit beautifully on clothes.

You can decorate them with more complex geometric patterns.

Here I use square, circles and straight lines.
