Chicken Feet (Pates de Poulet)
PEGA Residency + live stream concert at Botanique
Covid times are the best for live shows, as we all know... PEGA, a post-punk-groove-noise trio, of which I'm part of (look for the one with a fringe) got offered this opportunity to do a 3 day residency, and of course we were excited to say yes. But we were a bit sad with the idea of playing for nobody (aside from sound and video technicians and booker). We all agreed our usual plush friend should be multiplied by 3, and I decided to make some funny props.
While still in Porto I bought two engines used for turning chicken while they are roasting (check the images) at Aquário shop, the best shop in the whole of Porto. Back in Brussels, at Fablab Imal, I built with the help of Xavier and Joey, the wooden structure to hold the engine, and found a way to connect the chicken legs (made of pool noodles, painted cardboard and tights) to the engine. I also had to (learn to) build the electric connection for the engine.
It was fun!
