Sonia Paço-Rocchia

Sonia Paço-Rocchia is a Quebecer/European sound artist/digital artist/composer/performer/improviser/installation artist. As well as composing for traditional instruments, she enjoys composing for non-conventional instruments; found objects. She is interested in emerging technologies and when artistically necessary incorporates them into her works. Sonia is a talented improviser. She uses a myriad of sound-makers, invented instruments, voice and mostly bassoon, along with live electronics. As a digital and sound artist, she creates interactive sound installations as the piece she is doing for Pépinières européennes pour jeunes artistes Residency, in Mons.
