This page is an archive of iMAL's wiki that operated between 2012 and 2022. It documented projects, residencies and workshops mostly taking place at iMAL's Fablab.

Older & newer Fablab projects are now found at fablab.imal.org

David Molenberghs

I'm David, I live in Hasselt and in Brussels. I have a masters' degree in Animation specialising in 3D animation and I have been working with 3D modeling and animation since 1999. I allso teach 3D computeranimation at RITS School of Arts and Multec, both in Brussels.

I am very interested in the use of 3D content for other purposes then traditional 3D filmmaking. This has led me into working on different (research)projects like serious games, 3D for web (with Flash Papervision), Augemented Reality experiments and only just now the use of 3D printing technology.

I'm very interested in the Form1 SLA printer at iMal and the incredible fine detail this technology has to offer over the FDM printers.  I will use it to experiment on how to create complex everyday recognizable volumetric shapes, while using a minimal amount of printmaterial.
